During my span of time trying to deal with GERD I have used several home remedies. I would recomend that if you suffer from GERD that you give them a try. Home remedies are in no way a cure for the disease, but they do help to alleviate some of the symptoms associated with GERD.

Here are the one's that I know of from research and use:

Red Delicious Apples
Pure raw honey
Aloe vera juice
Apple cider vinegar (organic - not processed)
Green Tea with Ginseng (non-caffeinated)
Pickle juice

*new below
Sauerkraut juice
Baking soda
Fresh pineapple, mango or papaya
AlmonRAB
Dried figs
Chicory Root Tea
Cinnamon
DGL Licorice

Please add to the list if you know of others, and share your experience with them.

Thanks for the info Don. I was looking for a list like this with new things I can try.

I've had decent success eating beets (maybe 5-6 slices), I think that's because (sometimes) my reflux is bile related. As such, avoiding the gallbladder trigger fooRAB has been helpful for me as well (bad fats, caffeine, eggs, etc).

DGL I have to use it (as directed) before eating. For me, it doesn't do much to make the heartburn / pain go away but works well as a preventative.
