George Romero's Dawn of the Dead UK Blu Ray Boxset

I have the US boxset and US Bluray so apart from a decades old Tom Savini thing the US box is good enough.

The "directors cut" is nothing of the kind.
It's an unfinished version with none of the well known music track and it was the state the film was in when Romero had the opportunity to premiere it at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Theatrical version is the real directors cut - as in "Director Approved".

Although I find it inferior the Argento version in HD would have been enough to make me buy it.

But the US Bluray of the main film is usually well under a tenner so the UK set is hard to justify for those who already have the US releases

In the US set all 3 versions have commentaries and I was surprised that the 4 main cast members were on the Argento version.

I wonder if thats included too

I loved Dawn of the Dead and still think it's one of the most suspenseful zombie movies I've ever seen.

I loved that the actors were relevantly unknown at the time....and the movie was fresh and creative for its time also.

I remember everyone at the cinema were on the edge of their seats and chanting and cheering on the young soldier guy (sorry, can't remember his name) in taking on all the zombies when they were surrounding him. He was a hero in that movie.

It was tense and original.....and superb.

Great to see it out on a Blu ray box set. I think it's a classic and worth having as a collection. :)

There seems to be a new Dawn of the Dead disc release every year. Talk about flogging an undead horse.
Acutally, that's about the only thing that hasn't been in a Romero movie! ;)
