did geography/climate play? Please describe the geographic framework in which the earliest Western civilizations emerged and developed. What role did geography and climate play in shaping the course of Western civilization from its origins to 750 CE? Thorough, knowledgeable responses preferred, please.

I am sorry, but I don't know much on this...

However, let me remind you of the facts, that people are unsure of the geography whch may of influenced civlizations. The climate then and now would be different etc.

I also think, that early Civilizations tended to have towns or cities in places with the most natural resources (water, better soil etc) and terrain such as hills would of influenced cities where they built where it would be a better military position and easier to defend.

The role would of been large, the early civilizations made use of the natural environment. An example is the Greek cities, most of them were built to be near fertile land.
