My computer (nVidia Geforce GT 240 1GB GDDR5) is connected to my 19" Samsung monitor and a
Samsung HL-T5156WX HDTV (supports 1080p) through VGA cables. Windows 7 display settings
shows the monitor as "Samsung", but it detects the TV as "Generic non-pnp monitor". If I set the
resolution of TV to 1900x1080 @ 60Hz, the TV displays "not supported mode". The highest
resolution that I can see a picture is 1024x768. All the drivers are up to date. I've searched Google.
I've contacted Samsung and nVidia. No luck!
The VGA cable is fine cause I used it with my friend's setup and it worked fine.
