gears of war content filter?

hello, my son has an xbox 360. i just bought him gears of war over the weekend. i usually don't have a problem with guns and violence, IN VIDEO GAMES! but this game is just very bloody. the man at the store told me that the game had a content filter, i was just wondering how i activate it, and or tweak the language, gore, image filter.
