Gears Of War 2 single player chapter 3?

Ok, so am playing single player and made it to chapter 3 I believe. Am in a tank and driving down a dark cave till I make a jump, in which once you land, the vehicle won't start, and you will have three enemies show up, the ones with the huge legs that are giant spiders (sorry don't remember their name). and I get killed instantly, I try to drive/get away but keep getting killed. Can anyone give me any tips on how to pass this. Thank you
