G'day to all

Just an introduction, and I have a few questions if that's cool.

My names Ryan, and I live on the beautiful Northern Beaches in Sydney.

I just bought my first bike - and of coarse - it had to be a Ducati ! I'm on my L's, so I had to go with the Monster 400.

My ACTUAL bike is a 2002 Ducati M400 (Japanese import) - and I love it. It had around 6,000 k/m's on it - and I bought it from Aitkens Learner Legal World at Moorebank.

The only thing that irks me a bit is the power down low. I'm thinking of getting a new exhaust system - which to some degree - may help with this, but I'm finding it almost impossible to find a system that may fit, let alone someone that could / would sell it??

My current exhaust is the standard Ducati System - ZDM - B13.

I was hoping someone in the know may be able to assist, and maybe point me in the right direction.

My budget would be around a grand (I can install) give or take a couple of hundred.

Separate to that, I was wondering if y'all knew of a great place to get older Ducati parts here in Australia. I think I purchased the hardest Ducati in the world to get parts for !!

I recently got it serviced by Northside Motorcycles in Artarmon, and really - I got burgled. They charged me around $1,200 odd bucks for a service - and it took them 7 days to return it.

The next thing after the exhaust I want to focus on is the grips etc - just to make the bike a bit more sexy - but that's another thread.

Any help would be great - and it's great that there is a place to come and talk Ducati's with peeps !

To be honest with you, I would just ride the bike like it is. Since it's your first bike. Ride it and learn how the bike rides. Then when you feel like you're ready and a better rider, buy a newer monster. Don't spend too much and make the bike into a money pit. Because you'll end up spending too much and not get much potential out of the bike for the money. Enjoy and welcome into the Duc family.

Welcome Drizz!

I'm with Red, I say rock the bike stock for the time being. But then again, if you got it, flaunt it

Have fun and be safe!
