GC900 black screen, can't see who's calling or answer. HELP please.

I have an LG GC900 Viewty smart, and have a problem with not being able to see who's calling or being able to answer the phone. The screen stays black when it starts ringing,and no matter what I do I am unable to answer it, I end up having to ring people back. Not a problem with the free minutes but when my minutes run out I'll start paying.

Has anyone experienced this problem and maybe know a way to fix it? I have played with the phone settings and don't think that's the problem as it seems to be set up properly.

Any help would be really grateful,
