Gayle Tuesday Comeback

I used to love Gayle Tuesday but the joke got a bit boring after a while.

Not sure how her act will fare these days, as the telly is full of Gayle Tuesdays, though of course, unlike her, they're not joking, unfortunately.

That's generous. It would have worked as part of a sketch show, but for some reason Channel 4 gave her a whole show.

Someone's been daft enough to do it again.

She should stick to working with Harry Hill.

I'll reserve judgement until I see it on the 27th Sept. It looks like a post-modern fly-on-the-wall treatment with nods to Heat and WAG culture and Harry Hill is in it!

I loved her on Blankety Blank with Lily Savage. I wish I had Sky now. I wonder if it'll be like The Comeback with Valerie Cherish. I'm not sure Brenda Gilhooly has the acting ability to portray the emotional depth like Lisa Kudrow mind.

I was wondering the same, if it's half as good as The Comeback it will be at least worth a watch.

I really need to get round to buying the Comeback DVD. Hopefully Living will re-air the Lisa Kudrow one since it's launching it's namesake. I'm sure it was living I watched it on a few years back.

That's what I was saying. Valerie Cherish was the character Lisa Kudrow played. Gayle Tuesday is the character Brenda Gilhooly plays.

I don't think it is intended as a remake. It just happens to have the word COMEBACK in the title. After all "Gayle Tuesday" has done plenty of TV before and now probably felt the right time to bring her back to our TV screens.
I had to look up the Lisa Kudrow programme and It looks like her character was created for the purposes of that show and wasn't a return to a character she had performed as in her pre-Friends days.

Did anybody watch this? I thought it was pretty average. A few laughs here & there particularly the Harry Hill and Paul O'Grady scenes but overall it was quite yawnsome. Brenda is still a goddess tho.

This show was hilarious - much better than Lisa Kudrow's similar show in the States.

I thought Toyah was particularly good.

It was just silly piss-take humour and actually made me stay up way past my bedtime to watch it! LOL :D
