Timeo That's a great point. I never even noticed that.

Now I have to look for Gattaca posters on the net to check that out.

Just a thing, has anyone else noticed that in the poster for Gattaca, the one where Ethan Hawke is on the top and Uma Thurman below, separated by the logo-ey thing for Gattaca (the half cell and the half Saturn), that Vincent is looking towards Saturn while Irene is looking at the cells? Funny eh...coincidence!? I THINK NOT!

I loved that movie and its soundtrack. I like the story of man destined to fail just because of the 'numbers' but decided to overcome this to make his dream come true.

just watched the movie...i thought it was great....jude law and ethan hawke were great!! love it!!

I am happy you have a thred for this movie!!!
It is one of my favorites!!!!The script is based on an excellent idea and it is supported by great actors like Ethan Hawke and Jude Law!!!!
I just bought the dvd yesterday!!!And I saw the movie again!!!!Every time I see it I just love Ethan's performance a little more!!!
And something else!!!I think that the kiss that Vincent and airin exchange is one of the best kissed we have seen the least years on the big screen!!!There is so much chemistry between them!!!I cannot help it and compare the with Tom Cruise and Nicole KIdman!!!Although they were married too they didn't have that kind of chemistry and that sparkle in none of their movies!!!! :(

This was a wonderful movie. The chemistry between the actors was great, and the storyline was amazing. It was suspenseful, especially when they suspected Ethan Hawke's character of a murder (or something bad, its been awhile since I've seen it). It was so well done in general. The ending is so tragic and sad though, but it made sense.

I really love all the sci-fi futuristic things they thought of, they were quite unique and fascinating, especially the thing with conceiving children. It was sad how the natural way of having children caused him to have so many problems :[

Hi ya!

I love Gattaca...it's my favourite Ethan Hawke and Jude Law movie to date...It's just a very beautiful movie with a great cast (Uma, Loren Dean, Gore Vidal to name a few), a great musical score and wonderful cinematography...

One of my favourite scenes is when Jude had to play Vincent when Anton and Irene come to the apartment and he asks Irene for a kiss and she goes to his cheek but he motions her to kiss him on the mouth...and then when she abruptly leaves he comments to Vincent that he thinks that she likes them...

I was really sad by the ending...I didn't want to believe that Eugene would do that...I wanted him and Vincent to live together forever...they were so connected...they take care of each other...will Vincent ever know what Eugene did?

We had to watch this in biology my freshman year. I wasn't complaining because Ethan is yummy. Jude Law isn't so bad either. I don't like Uma Thurman much now and then all I knew about her was she was Ethan's wife. Anyway, I missed the middle of it because of some extra curricular thing so I was a little confused. The ocean scenes are cool and pretty powerful. I don't know if it would have been my favorite if it hadn't been something for school. :shrugs:

I always thought this movie was so sterile, but having watched it for the first time in a while (It was given to me on dvd I don't know why)... and I gotta say it is a pretty moving tale that is actually really well written and filmed superbly... what I once thought of as sterile I have come to appreciate as classy, simple and clean...

ANd Jude Law by the by is at his absolute best in this film.

No, he's not. I'm pretty sure the doctor mentioned that he also had a son who wasn't genetically perfect but was his dream to work for Gattaca also. I'm guessing that the doctor didn't say anything because it meant that if Vincent could do it, maybe his son could also.
Bleh, that didn't makes sense. I blame the lack of coffee.

Gattaca was a great movie. I first watched this movie when I was writing a paper on genetic engineering. Before watching the movie I was sorta pro genetic eng., but that movie was so great, and so true that I changed views.

The movie included a great cast. Ethan, Jude, and whoever that played Vincent's brother... ALL HOT GUYS! My other reason for liking the movie so much.

Oh wow, I LOVE Gattaca. Great storyline, and the cast was amazing... I love Ethan, Jude & Uma.
