Nothing. The price of oil goes up every day. It seems like not very long ago everyone was freaking out about the price of oil going over $100 per barrel. Now it's up to almost $130 a barrel. The demand is just going to keep going up. More and more people in China are buying cars. With the way their economy is growing, people that have never had cars before are getting them. Same thing with India. I would like to take mass transit, but it's hard for me because I work strange hours, and I have to drive my kids to the babysitter before I go to work. What takes me less than an hour in my car would take at least 2 hours by mass transit. And getting off work late at night I don't feel safe waiting at bus and trains stations late at night. There are a lot of robberies where I live. If you believe in the peak oil theory which says that there will be a point were oil production will level off, and then start dropping because all the oil fields will start drying up, then you could imagine the price of oil going up more, way more. So in the future gas could be $10 a gallon, or more.
