Garden privacy ??? neighbour problem ??

I have just brought a pool for my garden the pool is only 4 foot hight but when you use the ladder to get into the pool you stand just below the height of the fence and can see into next door neighbours garden clearly , now my neighbour is old and moans about everything , now i no he is going to complain that i can see into his garden when getting in to the pool , but has he any legal case against me for like invasion of privacy or am i cool and can tell him just to mind his own business and stop moaning..
 
I'm sure you can do whatever you want to in your garden (within reason!) If you have to climb a bit higher than your fence then so be it!

Enjoy your pool just keep the kids from screaming too much, even I don't like that "look at me mom stuff"
 
Make sure that you are completely naked when you get into the pool and demonstrate your friendliness towards him.

That'll sort it out.

your neighbor sounds like a grouch, you're not breaking any laws, tell him to get over it

he may just be jealous that he doesnt have a pool himself!
 
oh just let him grip. there's no law against looking at you neighbors yard. its not like you are staring at him over the fence.
 
Get some reeds from the home center(they come in a roll) and staple them to your existing fence which will make it higher and he won't be able to see you and vice a versa.
I really like the effect they make around the pool and its privacy for you not him!

and if he complains say tht u wern't looking in his yard and that he was lookin at u and tht u wud respect some privacy from him

tell him he don't have much life left he should enjoy it while he's still got it and not whine so much about stupid stuff.
 
it is not an invasion of his privacy.unless you stand on the ladder all the time and watch him ,if it bothers him that much offer to plant some bamboo along the fence line by the ladder inexpensive and in full sun will reach 10/15 feet in two or three years, that if he is a gardener will shake him up.and it stays green almost all year and i have some around a patio and it is like a beautiful green wall and i live in N.J u.s.a.
 
he is a neighbour even if grouchy it is in your best interests to be as friendly as possible and then some. You could appoligise for the intrusion even ask if he would like to come over for a swim----it is a good neighbour thing to do ! Ask what sort of screening he would suggest . It would be better even for your own privacy and the naked idea is also good.
