Gaming Rig For $2000 need help?

So I have a $2000 budget to build/buy a gaming PC to replace my useless dell XPS I currently have. I know a little about computers and their hardware (I know I still bought a dell but that was a while ago). I want to know what I should be expecting to get for that sorta cash as far as CPU, GPU, amount of ram, MB etc. are concerned?
 
Go in to a small computer shop tell them exactly what you want to be able to do. They will know what you need and are less likely to rip you off than a big company, and they will be able to help you way more than a big group, especially when you tell them how much you have to spend.
