Gamestop employee policies on a returned refurbished system?

Ok, so my xbox 360 pro of 4 years finally RROD on me a couple of weeks ago. A couple of days ago i went to gamestop and purchased a refurbished xbox. Today i decide it is running too loud so i took it back to Gamestop and exchanged it for another one. about an hour later i call Gamestop and tell them that i left my copy of Halo Reach inside the returned Xbox. The employee immediately replies that she sold that xbox 45 minutes ago, and that they cant do anything for me. Now this is just wrong on so many different levels, i know they must have some kind of policy about checking consoles that have been returned with a defect, if it really was sold 15 minutes after i brought it back there is no way they had time to even see what i was talking about. so my question to you is, what can i do to get them to give me a new copy of Reach (a $60 game)? thanks in advance for any responses.
