games where you have a lot of lives?

ok so im wondering if there is a specific name for games where you have a lot of lives. you know, games like halo or black ops where you have unlimited lives most of the times. and there are games where you only get one life like in gears of war. so i want to know if theres a name for those games or not. im pretty sure there isnt but idk
