Games for a slower computer?

My normal computer was just stolen so while I'm saving up and research for a you bute (Australian for excellent haha) new one, I'm stuck with my old one.

This could take a couple of weeks and I'm looking for some games that could match these requirements:
- Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.26GHz
- XP SP3
- 1022MB RAM
- Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
- SoundMAX Digital Audio

I have some games installed on there that I like, such as most of the Half Life series, Ghost Recon, San Andreas, C&C Generals & Zero Hour, Worms 3D and some older ones like C&C Red Alert and Abe's Oddyssey. Also quite a few others I couldn't be bothered listing.

The problem is with a couple of the "better" games I have on this machine I have to turn the effects and such right down to get it to play smoothly. I have ToCA Race Driver (A game I like quite a bit) but can't play it because not only are all the cars white and the track consists of about 5 pixels but it doesn't run fast enough to allow fast reactions that are required.

I would like some suggestions on some (possibly) older games that would run here. Some ideas on games that I would like:

- RPGs are alright as long as they aren't about stupid fantasy monsters dressing up in stupid clothes (therefore pretty much non existent)
- No Anime style games
- Games that are too sci-fi or supernatural. I like Half Life because of the wonderful storyline but I don't much like shooting creatures that will never exist (much prefer shooting people ;) )
- I like most FPSs that aren't in the directly above category
- Love good storylines, especially suspenseful ones
- Also like most car racing games, so long as they are pretty realistic (not arcadey)
- Don't mind the quirky strategy games like the Oddworld series and so forth.
- Some strategy games are alright (like Command & Conquer), but I don't like their "campaign" modes so spend the whole time versing a computer over and over.
- Online games are OK, but here in regional Australia my internet speed isn't quite up to some of the others and it's hell when you are trying to shoot somebody and you have to predict where they'll be in half a second's time.

Sorry for writing so much, just hoping there are some gamers out there that can think back a few years to some good games. I'm not the typical gamer but like a good game session once every few days.
