Game controllers for PC games Vibration motors don't work?

I've bought 3 different brands of controllers with the vibration motors in the handles (like sony controllers) never once have any of them ever worked on any game. No one I know or game with has ever had them work either. All have software disk loaded. Any Suggestions??
