gallbladder polyps

I recently had an abdominal ultrasound which showed a 12mm polyp in my gallbladder. My GI doc recommended me to a surgeon for removal. I met with the surgeon and he said, lets not remove the GB yet and do an ultrasound again in 6 months. He said sometimes ultrasounds are not acurate. He also threw out that if it was cancerous then 6months would not make any difference. Should I be concerned? Should I get a second opinion?

If it was me, I would see another surgeon and request another sonogram or scan of the gallbladder.

The first surgeon may be right, however, when it is my body I do not want to wait 6 months.
