I have been looking for a new phone recently, since I don't really like my Sidekick 2008. So I look at some handsets and I want either a G1 MyTouch 3G or a Nokia N97 Unlocked. I have heard that the G1 may not support future Android updates because of low ram. I have also heard problems with the N97's resistive touch screen and S60 OS. Which one should I get? :help:

i've had the n97 for 6 months
I would say get the MINI N97
perfect color, mature os ,
what I liked about it was that it got the job done, not the prettiest or coolest but it was rock solid in reception, camera, speaker phone, whatever hardware you wanted, it was just a work horse of cell phones.
HTC's hardware from my point of view, has been CHEAP comparitely and befitting its name that it was made in Taiwan.
Sure its a phone it has a screen speaker, but every part in it is CHEAP, but china is known for its cheap knockoffs, i just didn't feel that impressed iwth the g1,g2
the g3 is just a block of metal, nothing special -- not stylish ( its black) -- not thin ( its almost as thick as qwerty sized phone)

I like both the Nokia N97 Mini and the MyTouch 3G for different reasons. The hardware aspect is better on the Nokia side but the MyTouch 3G has a better OS platform and applications market.
Depends what you're looking for. I would pick the n97 or n97 mini over those phones. The G1 is too old to buy now. And my touch is just another carrier phone. Maybe go for the hero, or wait for a better android device.
But definitely the n97, the camera and video are superior, and that's usually pretty important for me.
