Future of TMO- is it bright?

Does anyone in the know have any idea what TMO has going on in the near and distant future with regards to their network and service?

A few threads have touched upon VZE working LTE and ATT's 3G, which is already up and running. Does TMO have any moves up its sleeve regarding their network?
Will they be jumping on the LTE train and get up to speed?

Just curious

I don't know if you know; Tmo has already jumped on the 3G bandwagon along with sprint and VZ. I think that was a big move. One thing I don't like with their 3G, it is device oriented.; meaning only a tmo 3g phone can pic up the tmo 3g or a device that supports their 3g frequency. Not like att were the device and sim card plays the roll; so if you have a unlock 3g gsm phone you have a better chance of 3g working on att instead of tmo.

On another note; what is LTE? I haven't herd of it.

LTE stands for Long Term Evolution- aka 4G. With possible download speeds of 150Mbps, upload speed of 3Mbps. Some more info after the link below.

Is TMO's network fully deployed and up to snuff with the competition and where are the Berry's that can use TMO's 3G?

If you go to t-mobile.com, you can search for phones with 3G (no BB devices at this time, however.) Also, go to Coverage Maps, and you can select 3G coverage to see where it has been implemented.

I realize TMO has some 3G offerings, but thats not what I was talking about. What I am asking about is, simply put- BRAGGING RIGHTS- lol.

Will TMO have the FASTEST, THE BEST, 3G ? Will TMO be first to market with LTE (aka 4G) Will TMO snag some more exclusive, highly anticipated phones?

Gizmodo recently ran a great piece - COAST TO COAST 3G SPEED TEST

and TMO wasn't even included in the test- the 3 carriers were VZE, ATT & SPRINT.

C'mon TMO get in the game guys!!!

T-Mobile is planning to jump on the LTE bandwagon instead of developing the HSPA any further. I have a feeling they only jumped on the 3G bandwagon to compete with AT&T. Something tells me they may be the first carrier to deploy LTE.

*Not sure on the validity of the article, however, thats not the only site i've seen that information on.

The answer is simple. Tmo's bacic Berry plan is 25 or 35 depending on texting, while other carriers start at 40 with just basic service. Do the math Tmo tries to keep costs lower that anyone else and so speed suffers. 3g is all well and good but as long as Tmo is 200 to 300 a year cheaper then I will be staying.

I understand your reasoning. But it would be nice if TMO had the option for the customers willing to pay a bit more to get better speeds and performance.
