Does Cricket offer GPS services?

At this time Cricket does not offer GPS services. Cricket is working hard to add GPS and location based services to our ever expanding product offerings. Stay tuned!

yes this was announced some time ago. the company cricket has contracted to provide their e911 services will probably also add some LBS (location based services)

i tried google maps on my treo 650...no go...i'll play with it a lil more and see if i can get it...if not, i'll give a more detailed ldescription of the prob...maybe it's b/c i had to set up my wap as an "Express Network" using "Virtual Modem" on my treo...regular wap settings using "High Speed Wireless" would not work...tried tried tried and nothin...even bought a cable and tried to edit some in qpst...the only fix for me was the "Virtual Modem"...i kept getting:
"Error: Check your username and password and try again. Your mobile service provider may not use dial-up connections."
that may be b/c i have the alltel treo 650 with unbranded v1.04

i've been noticing that a lot of apps on my treo have little bugs that have to be worked out...hope gmaps works for me...also cricket should be getting the LBS soon...or so i've heard...can't get sricket to confirm...their right hand soesn't know what its own fingers are doing.

how do you get the virtual modem to connect? I also have an alltel Treo 650 on CricKet and for about a month the data worked great I had Opera working and any Java app. No Google maps though I expect that was because of the proxy. I connected using the High Speed Wireless. But a couple of months ago the data stopped connecting and I got the message "Error: Check your username and password and try again. Your mobile service provider may not use dial-up connections." or something close to that. I set up the virtual modem connection to see if that would work but no luck. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. And I do still have data on my account.

i had the same prob that you are having until i updated my rom version...i did find a fix before i updated...there are actually 3 ways to set up your wap without a cable...go to:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=528038
go to the 9th post by g.711 and look there...the first way that he says to wet up wap will work if you are getting that error...also- you can go to palm.com and reinstall the 1.05 update for alltel if you have not already...first you will want to backup your contacts as mine were not restored during the process...after this update you will be able to use the method you previously used for wap...pm me if you have any trouble...this will work

cricket already has EVDO in some places here in houston...they say it is in "the testing phase"...this means that they will have it up and running in full within a short time...i give it 6 months or so...the LBS however, i cannot even get them to confirm...they say that it is a rumor that is going around...going around between their peeps that is...i believe they are in the early phases of talks and strategies as to how they are going to bring it about...also- i'm sure they are still going over the financials...you know how a business deal goes...you start talking about it, the rumors get going, and then you eventually develop the plan and move forward...i think that they are finally starting to figure out how they will pay for and implement the LBS and more data service...
notice the additional late fees cricket now has?...hmmm.

There was a press release concerning the specific company that will be providing LBS for cricket. It is the same vendor that will be setting up their e911 systems. This is not a rumor. it will happen. what we don't know is the timeline.

with regarRAB to the late fees... well they brought it back for the markets that they had gotten rid of it for. some markets always had the reconnection charge. it sucks, but what are you going to do.... besides pay your bill on time.

i hear ya man...i always get mine paid...but everytime i go to the store there's like 500000000000 people doing bridge-pay...eek...can you say money management...
