Futurama is the best adult cartoon on tv

AstounRAB me that anyone still considers Family Guy a good show, let alone the best adult orientated animation. Hell, it's not even the best MacFarlane Sunday night show (American Dad! is). I'm not saying that Futurama is perfect by any means, the movies and the most recent series weren't perfect despite having their fair share of excellence, but are at least written by a team who actually care about detail and rewarding their viewers for thinking. The last few seasons of Family Guy really can be compared to going to the zoo every week for 22 minutes and watching a monkey throwing faeces at another monkey. Again and again and again. I hate myself for thinking 'Oh, maybe it'll be good this week' in the same way I still mentally plead with The Simpsons to end it's fourteen year run of utter dross after some of the best animated comedy produced in decades.

If you like animated comedy and haven't seen 'The Life and Times of Tim' or 'Ugly Americans', get on those too. Be warned: both contain actual writing and don't just rely on gags that simply remind you of something you saw or heard once.

I know Family Guy isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I'm even more surprised that anyone would place American Dad above it, when it seems to consist of jokes that never made it into Family Guy, and the Cleveland Show just gets the one's that never made it into American Dad.
If there's one thing Seth MacFarlane will be remembered for, it will be the little gem that is Family Guy.
