Hey Everyone...i just wanted to pass along a tidbit of advice I got not too long ago. I had a gastric bypass about 15 years ago and as you know, once you have that done, it's hard to absorb nutrients. I was told about a man who had a fusion done and his graph wasn't taking like it should. They found out his vitamin D level was very low and you need that to absorb calcium. They started him on vitamin D & calcium supplements and his graph started growing better. I figured if this was a problem for some one w/out a bypass, a certainly should be a concern for us folks who have had one. I asked my surgeon about starting calcium w/ vit D and he agreed it was a good idea. Just thought I would pass that along. sure can't hurt!!!
