It sort of annoys me that Black Lagoon and Ergo Proxy are still in Geneon-like packaging, yet Last Exile isn't, because it's a Gonzo series and FUNi likes that sort of thing.

Actually, it's because Black Lagoon and Ergo Proxy are still Geneon properties, with FUNi in charge of merely distribution, while Last Exile was an actual acquisition for them. I guess Geneon's old warehouse still has some steelbooks lying around or something. Either that or the series sold well enough to justify the extra expense of producing more.

I'm pretty sure Ergo Proxy came out last year. I bought it cheap cheap at Best Buy last month.

That was when it was released by Geneon. This is the set FUNimation is releasing.

Actually, it's the same set - I've seen copies of the Funi/Genon Ergo Proxy at my local Hastings and that's the one Lance is showing off. I think he's just showing off some of the older packaging that was requested by fans back when this video blog started .
