Full Moon wo Sagashite is wonderful!

I've heard of this series before but hadn't seen an episode until just moments ago. I hits all the right notes in my book. It's really endearing from even the first episode. And the music is pretty good as well (and I'm not a big fan of Japanese idol type music honestly).

I dislike that her hair is so similar to Sailor Moon's (the meat balls) when she's an idol. Honestly I'd prefer something more original or at least hair that isn't blonde. I like her brown hair honestly. But little details... nothing to worry about.

Pep tells me Viz is using Ocean Westwood. It seems that male Shinigami is destined to be voiced by Richard Cox but I think that'd work out well actually. Though maybe Kirby Morrow would be more entertaining and easier on the ears.

An excellent series to start off Viz's Shoujo Beat video line for sure but it'd be great if CN would take a chance on this one. I don't know where they'd play it but it'd be awesome if they did. YTV is an easier sell I'd assume especially with Canadian talent involved with the dub.

I hope to see more of it eventually and that it'll get a great dub.

Personally, I think the manga is much more effective emotionally (or at the very least much more effectively paced,) but I will say it's a pretty solid magical girl show, likely worth the 30 bucks a volume once it starts release domestically. It could probably do pretty well on TV in a Sailor Moon via Jem and Holograms fashion if any one had the guts to run it.

I really love the manga (I also love Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne, which is another title from the same manga artist)...I've never seen the anime, but I definately want to check it out when it arrives (especially if it's an Ocean Westwood dub,I love their work)...

I checked out the manga now. The pacing is much better though it also seems to leave details out. The art of course looks even better (very few animes look better than their manga counter-part art wise) and the emotion is a bit more affective. I'm going to have get the anime on Netflix when it comes out. I really look forward to this dub.

More like the anime added details that weren't in the original manga - the anime and manga were released simultaneously in Japan IIRC, so they diverge considerably at points (much like Angelic Layer which also had similar divergence issues because of a simultaneous release schedule.)

Well yeah they added details in the anime but that actually leaves you wondering how certian things happened in the manga. Such as how Mitsuki met her Manager the first time.

I've never seen the anime or read the manga, but I did read about it on the net and in NewType(back when they use to have that section with the episode summaries for shows airing in Japan). And what I read did catch my interest, so it's on my list of "worth a look"s.

I think I actually like the anime more than the manga because it doesn't feel rushed while the anime doesn't really feel poorly paced either. The manga is great though.

30 or so episodes later and this series has managed to surpass Fruits Basket to me and I didn't think that was possible. Fruits Basket was very emotional but I think I only got teary a few times. I get teary with Full Moon quite often. It's just so powerful sometimes. It's quickly scaling up my list of all time favorite anime.

I'm just going by what I've seen.

To be entirely honest I haven't read much of the Furuba manga. I've actually read more of the Full Moon manga but for some reason I prefer the anime more so far.

I don't know what I'm missing in Fruits Basket in that case but if it's more powerful than some of the stuff near the end of the anime then it's pretty dang powerful.

I'm sure it is. The anime alone has some farely dark stuff in it. Also a few heartbreaking moments. I really should check out the manga which shows Kyo's true form. Since it would be rather conflicting with the art style.

Now about the music of Full Moon. Love the first OP and all the ED's but the 2nd OP is awful. They should have stuck with just that first one.

I was told I might cry from episode 42 by a poster on another message board. I actually wasn't that moved by that episode. It was sad but just not quite as emotional as I thought it might be.

But 46 was incredibly moving.

And now I'm done with the anime. I enjoyed every moment. It's now my favorite shoujo anime and one of my favorite anime period.

The ending was quite fitting as well.

Now I'll see how the manga is differen't beyond the chapters I've already read.

EDIT: Oh yeah... that's a much different ending. And I figured as much. The manga has a lot more shinigami business involved with it than the anime. And its a great deal more complicated. There's even some very unexpected twists. But I'd say I like the ending better for the most part.

You said the anime and manga started about the same time Karl. So which finished first? Given how the anime enRAB in comparison I'm thinking the anime did but maybe not.

I had got the first volume of the manga the other day now I wish I had bought it all at once its really cute and yet none of the goodguys are pushovers even little Mitsuki can be rough usually against Takuto I wonder if Takuto is actually her dad? oh and I want a nickname as cute as "shorty"
