full body edema

What causes full body edema? I think I may have it . But I believe mine is medication induced. My Dr is running test for rheumethoid atrhritis, lupus, lyme disease and auto immune disorder. He is aslo sending me to see a Cardiologist. Both my limbs arms and legs are swollen. Also my feet, face and abdomen. This has been worsening my Asthma, I feel it has gone into my lungs.
 
The first thing that comes to my mind is your kidneys.When they malfunction,they can't filter the toxins out of your body and into your urine,so your body swells up.
I read kidney function can be effected by lupus,so it's good your doctor is testing for that.
You should get your creatinine serum levels checked and a urinalysis.
