Fuel gauge stopped working in 1989 Mazda 323?

Fuel gauge stopped working in my 1989 mazda 323 and wanted to know what the problem may be and how much to fix it?
Last time I put fuel in it, it moved up just a hair so I don't believe its a fuse.
What do I do ?
