Isuzu Ascender 2006 - Noticed problems with fuel gauge fluctuating from empty to full, then back again, even after I filled tank, sometimes it stick on empty (w/ light). Also noticed “check engine light” came on. Sounds like fuel sender is stuck or inoperable. Does this mean I need a new fuel pump, or can I just replace the fuel sender or sensor?

If it's still under warranty, take it in. Otherwise you are going to have to have it checked. Might be a bad wire on sending unit in tank. Wiring for it costs about $25, then you have to install it.

for the guage check the switch its prolly moving while u drive causing it to open and close the circuit. bout the pump dont go str8 into the pump save ur self some cash by checking da soleniod

Some of these fuel senders are repairable. You could check with a gas tank refurbishing facility to find out if the one for your car can be fixed or refurbished.

1 look up fuel pump/sender unit at advance auto.com or auto zone

my gauge doing same...sender/fuel pump is one unit for my chevy 300 for part...100 to drop gas tank and install,,,so i fill it put trip odometer to 0 and refill at 180 to 200 miles...its a pain. but im cheap.
