have a recall on this? I had a SES (Service Engine Soon) light go on the dash. They did the diagnostic at the dealer, and Mr. Goodwrench told me it was the fuel filler neck and the gas cap that were the problem.
This cost $500 plus tax for the repairs and erasing the code causing the message.
I was just wondering how common this is with this model, a 2001 Buick Lesabre Custom. Low mileage (57,000 kms or about 36,000 miles).
Has anyone else been through this? It just seems a bit unusual for a car of this young age and miles.
The car runs Okay and without the warning light now.
Was there a recall on defective filler necks for that model or do you know if there is a way to find out?
I did not smell any gas while this light went on, but the mechanic assured me that was the problem because they made sure by doing a smoke machine test.
Your comments please...
