First, I'll just get it out of the way that yes, I have a soft spot for FB. I haven't been actively buying it; I only just got the final volume a few weeks ago, and I've been buying the rest for cheap at sales and such. I have, however, been getting the ultimate edition hardback books that are larger and have color artwork (Almost as much as one regular book thanks to Right Stuf), and I was saddened when it seemed they had stopped making them after the 3rd.
They recently started them up again with the 4th (vols. 7 & 8), and I just recieved my copy, but it seems they don't have ANY color artwork inside anymore, not even the original covers. It really feels like one of the major selling points was taken away; sure, they're still cheaper that the original two books together, but besides being bigger and arguably sturdier, there's no incentive to buy them if you have the originals, and makes it harder to decide between the two versions.
So, here's a question: has a re-release of a graphic novel (or anime) ever made you disappointed, especially if you went ahead and bought it?
