...expensive/hard to repair? ? someone backed into it and broke headlight and pushed back that panel. car still drives well, no shaking or anything.

That panel is called your fender. They're available aftermarket and used and shouldn't be more than $120 for the part plus an hour for install and 2.5 hours to paint it.

If it's actually pushed back into the door it's going to be cheaper to replace it than it would be to try to fix it.

Loosen all the bolts on the fender, they are in the engine compartment and under the bumper and under the fender.
pry the fender forward and place shims between door and fender, measure the good side for the correct spacing at the top and bottom offender and door. and where the door hits the fender..
Tighten the fender including the bottom.
Try it out.and readjust if needed.

It is hard to fix because you need to check if there's anymore damage that you're not aware of. Take it too maaco they can give you a free estimate and a great deal.

first of all don't use macco they don't do good work i work in auto-body and cars that have been done at macco come in all the time and we fix them properly and the best thing to do is go and get an estimate they're free
