My best friend is going to boot camp in a few weeks, but he isnt sure of the address that I will be sending letters to. He said he'd let me know once he got there/got the addr, but in the same breath he said he most likely wont have time to write.

I was curious, do they allow recruits to call or write and let ppl know where they are, or are they informed before they leave?

Also, what are some nice things to write? Hed like me to write daily, but my life isnt that interesting. However I dont want to let him down. O_o
Kind of a good idea China, but why replace the names?

This one is right up my alley. I am a former U S NAVY Sailor. When he/she 1st arrives in Boot Camp, he/she will not be able to contact you immediately. The military has an indoctrination program that is part of boot camp to assist in the transition from Civilian life to Military life. Your friend may not be able to contact you during the 1st 30 days. Give him/her some time. When the branch of service feels that your friend has earned priviliges, he/she will be allowed to write, call, or email you at that time. Do not write your friend any bad news. Keep you communication w/ your friend upbeat and happy. He/She needs to stay focused on what they are doing. Bad new is a distraction. Send Letters, Pictures, Cards, and Music. Also, keep in touch w/ your friend family. The immediate family will be the first ones to get contact info. Hope this helps.
