friend gave me a phone with warrantee, can i go to the tmobile store and ask them to

fix it cuz its not mine? so my friend gave me a phone. it still has warantee on it. lately though, it have been having some troubles, i want to go get it fix, but i'm not sure if the people at the store will replace/fix it since it is not entirely my phone. btw, the carrier is Tmobile. so any help?
