Could be breakthrough bleeding/period wasn't quite over...it's happened to me too 
You also could have had a slight injury if the sex was especially rough or not well-lubricated, even small wounds in that area seem to bleed much more than you would expect. If you're using only birth control pills for protection, however, breakthrough bleeding could mean that the pills aren't working properly, in which case I would take get some Plan B and take it just to be on the safe side (that's what I did). If it continues to happen, consider giving your gyno a call, but it's very possible it's just an isolated incident and won't happen again.
