Frequent Blood Checks?

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone on this board feels the need to get frequent CBC's done to make sure their blood work is normal?

I have probably had my blood checked 12 times in the last 2-3 years - my mom died from leukemia, (I have OCD), and I also feel I need to have a copy of the report when the results come back; it's like I don't trust the nurse on the phone telling me everything is normal.

My most recent anxiety is about the fact that my WBC's (white blood counts) have been different every time I get my blood checked - they've been anywhere from the 5,000's to the 8,000's - yesterday the WBC was in the 8,000's and while the dr has no worries (I have no symptoms except bruising, which I've had for years AND have had my blood checked before because of this!), I still am stressed because it's never been in the 8,000's before when I've had it checked.

Anyway, any thoughts would be great!

I'm on various medications, some of which can impact blood work, and my doctor recommenRAB that I get blood work done every six months. Probably a good rule of thurab, particularly if you have a family history or are on medications that can impact liver, etc.

Otherwise, don't worry about it unless you're having odd symptoms.

Oh, and I bruise with a feather touch too ;)
