Freebies from PalmGear.com

This is a repeat of the thread concerning free programmes from Palm Gear, but I thought that no one would really mind seeing as I can't change the original thread heading and it looks as if the thread, even though I've changed it, only relates to 08 July.

"Folks,

Palmgear.com is offering a free programme each day at the bottom of the link below. Worth checking out each day in order to see exactly what they're giving away (08 Jul it was 'Checklist' 09 Jul 'Earth Defender' who knows what it'll be tomorrow?!). It's in the 'spectacular' tab at the bottom of the page, just in case the link doesn't work. I'm sure if I read the page properly I could tell you how long that this is going to go on for, but I haven't so I won't.

Hope this is of some help. Key word for me is 'free'!

I believe you have to hit "buy" and check out. This involves giving them your email address, name, model type, et cetera. I wonder if you just download the zip does it work? Probably not - you have to hit buy, I think, to get the "free promo code"

I'm wondering if this isn't an "email database grab."

Also - Mobile DB at $4.99 is a FANTASTIC DEAL - but I've never seen it sold at that price nor commercial software "given away."

I'm wondering if they're not blowing it out NOW because . . . . well . . . . . COBALT is coming. Dare I say it? The stuff may not WORK "later on" . . . . . ????

Hmmmm.

Already being a member and having bought stuff from them before, giving the info was not a problem for me. Also you can opt out of any ads and spam stuff if you so desire. I have not found them to be a problem, and they honor your request to opt in or out at will. What the heck, the price is right, and like I said they already had my information.

Yes, I've purchased from them before too, and I'm already in their database. I simply logged in, and then hit "Buy" - took me to the check out screen. Then it said - Zero balance - No credit card info needed. and then to the link to download.

And if you don't do the Buy - you will simply get the "Demo" version.

I'm still waiting for the reg code from yesterdays download.

I as well have bought from them in the past and they have my details, so I too am of the 'why the hell not?' opinion. I have just tried to download their 10th July prog (Tip Tap) and have got as file ending in .prg which I haven't seen before, but have e-mailed the progs assistance people to help out.

I had tried that one this morning as well - I got a different error. It says that the "The Selected Product is not StreamLync 2.0 compliant."

I'm not even able to download it. Hmmm - You get what you pay for sometimes I guess.

Update - OK - here's what I did. Downloaded the program from Hangango.com, then used the registration code from Palmgear to unlock it... So, I got it to work in a round about way.

The Checklist programme seems to have come around again! If this is a loop, then I think it's something like, Checklist, Pilot Colums, Tip Tap, Icon Set, Diet prog....don't think I've missed anything out.

The site claims from memory to be offering 24 free progs over the same number of days, however if this is now a loop, it would appear that they indeed are offering that number, just not varying them!

For those of you have been on the look out each day, we'll wait until Wednesday to see if this really is a loop or just a slip....

the iconset has already featured twice (as has checklist) but the order would appear to be random...we might get checklist again tomorrow...
