sorry i'm new.

1. it is right, that i can read out a memory area wich cotains the unlock code or from wich can be caculate the corecct unlock code?

2. witch hardware i need?
2.1. cable: it is possible to use a original usb cabel for this model with modified electronics or need i a cabel like jtag for nokia-phones? (where can i find a schematic)
2.2. pc-connection: rs-232(serial) or usb possible?

thanks in advance.
this are my first steps in unlocking phones.

guyjim, there are several things which might have gone wrong:
1. TX/RX might need to be swapped
2. the baud rate might be too high so it might just work for a lower baud rate
3. there might be a problem with the solder joints

you can check the connection just be using hyperterminal (115200 8n1) when the phone is booted and the screen is lit up: the phone responds to standard AT ("hayes") commands.

looks like nobody knows? box manufacturers like infinity should know what phones are egold based? so if someone has a nice friendship with one of these guys he could probably get a hold on this info.

the driver for your COM port sucks. I've uploaded a new version to the link posted in my blog - try it with
Code:
--baud 115200
and report back whether it works.

Hello! Please send me an unlock code
My phone is LG GB102
IMEI: 353999034912556
Thanks a lot!

Hi Dogbert.

Thank you for your reply..

Why would I do this? Are you saying that I could have TX and RX the wrong way around? because I'm certain that they are correct as I have the back off the phone and TX and RX are clearly marked on the PCB

I am trying 115200 baud rate as mentioned earlier in the thread.. I have tried some different baud rates but I get the same result every time.. not working!

The solder joints are 100% perfect.

I did already try this.. I put the settings in as you say (115200 8n1) and I chose the correct COM port. When I open the connection, HyperTerminal will not let me type any commands! I don't know why this is, do you?

I'm really mystified as to why this isn't working, if you got it to work yourself with the same setup then I must be doing something wrong somewhere..

Should there be a SIM card in the GB102 or not? When I get the "Waiting for bootstrap loader (press ON key)..." message I press and hold the power button on the GB102 - is this the correct procedure?

Hi,

I've written a small python script with which you can read out the flash and the unlock codes of egold lite based LG phones:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YPLLBM84
http://dogber1.blogspot.com/2009/07/unlocking-lg-phones.html

enjoy!

I've added a routine which can find the offset of the IMEI in the eeprom. With that and the relative offset between the IMEI and the unlock code, the script should be a lot more robust to the effect that it should now work for every egold LG phone and every software version. I haven't got a plethora of LG phones to test with, however, so I rely on user input. If you find a phone that works, just post it here or on my blog.

I press power but the soft is not reponding !
while it's responding with Furious box

In my presence

C:\Lg>lg-unlock.py --port COM1 --baud 57600 -e
Opening serial port...
Waiting for bootstrap loader (press ON key)...
Loading first boot stage...
dumping 2 bytes...
00000000 30 00 |0.|
1st boot stage not accepted, aborting...

C:\Lg>lg-unlocke.py --port COM1 --baud 57600 -e
Opening serial port...
Waiting for bootstrap loader (press ON key)...
Loading first boot stage...
Loading second boot stage...
Boot mode: bb
Using Default_RAM_Bootloader 7.0
Setting baud rate to 57600
CFI stage 1

stops here

it is possible to change the communication between PC and the LG KP100 in the script that the LG USB Datencable DK-80G for LG KP100 can be used?

thanks in advance

Thank you for your recommendation, but sorry, it isn't really feasible to buy your box to unlock one cheap phone.

motik, as mentioned above, the unlock code isn't derived from the IMEI, so posting it is plain stupid.
