Hello Toon Zone Forum Members,
I wanted to let all you know that www.FilmFestivalWorld.com has just launched... With a whole genre gateway page devoted to the Animation Film, Filmmaker and Festival community (http://www.filmfestivalworld.com/animation_games/). We are really pleased to be able to support this community and look forward to comments, questions and most of all... PARTICIPATION! I hope you will like what you see.
About us:
Independent filmmakers have told us that the perfect website would help them finance, distribute, and publicize their films. That?s the direction we have charted for FilmFestivalWorld.com.
FFW is a newly launched site developed to be an independent filmmaker?s best (and free) toolkit for festival selection, film promotion and outreach to creators and distributors, programmers, press, investors, critics, and importantly, fans and consumers.
FFW and Navigating the Festival Circuit and Selecting Festivals:
While finding film festivals is easy, navigating among the thousands of film festivals throughout the world in order to select a set of submissions that will result in the optimum circuit of screenings to fulfill a particular film?s goals requires more than a list. In fact, many well-financed independent productions frequently defer this careful consideration to pricey festival consultants.
To support the work of young filmmakers who stretch just to rent the gear they need to make their films, FFW has surveyed the festival world and developed a metrics-based set of analysis tools that filmmakers can use to level the playing field, to be their own consultants and to promote their films on the festival circuit.
FFW and Bringing Audience, Criticism and Support to the Door of Festival Films:
FFW is built to support the independent film community by offering filmmakers with current festival films an interactive and multimedia press kit. We have also included a HUB located at the bottom of all FFW Film pages, developed to be an important part of the PR outreach. The HUB is a community driven blog, which facilitates connections with the FFW member community. It allows a filmmaker to make announcements and share news and reviews, while inviting other members to start threads and comment.
Having an FFW Film Page means that people who might otherwise not know about a film will see it here. For film distributors, programmers, reviewers and others we hope to become the source that provides them with new films that they might not know about without their visit to FFW. For festival audiences, we endeavor to be the source of festival buzz and the internet?s best site for browsing emerging and established filmmaker talent.
Please visit our homepage, browse our festival and film pages and read more about the FFW project at: http://www.filmfestivalworld.com/about/
We hope that you will find FilmFestivalWorld.com to be a useful resource for promoting your projects or browsing new animation films. We urge you to talk to us if you think we can service the independent and international animation film communities better.
Enjoy Discovering the Film Festival World!
