Well...yes...it is either 12 months or 7,500 miles....whatever comes first....still saving some pennies either way...

Wish they gave this to us a couple years ago along with the 4 year warranty they have on the 1198.

Do the 600 service yourself. All it is is an oil-change (costs about $80 for parts) and they just check the chain and other real basic stuff.

I've just had mine done. Expect around $350. I have prepaid my services until 12,000 miles/2 years for $1,300 for piece of mind. A very big difference on how she runs after the 600 mile service. She runs smoother now and feels like you've ben hit by a 747 jumbo jet when you squeeze the throttle. Expect some unplanned wheelies specially on second gear with spirited driving. Just what a Ducati is supposed to be.
I feel like a dork now for paying a service that Ducati is giving for free. Anyways, the free service is only for the first year and at 7500 miles.

That's incorrect. We do not have 4 years warranty on 1198. Its only 2 years with unlimited miles. I had 1098 and moved to 1198 2 months ago, same warranty.

I could be dream come true if we have 4 years unlimited miles warranty.

I think that's a big mistake. Mine ran a lot smoother after the 600, and the roll on power was totally different. Whatever they're doing for the service, it ain't just an oil change.
