I got an OTTB about a year ago
he has a bit of a weaving problem, he's gotten better about it but he weaves to the point of sweating. He starts about 30min-ish before its feeding time.
SO. I was thinking about getting him a freedom feeder hay net.
Unfortunately I don't really know the ins and outs of hay very well, so I'd like to get opinions and double check some things before I start anything.
He gets 2 flakes of alfalfa daily, and 2 scoops of beet pulp so that I can put his medication in it. (he's anemic.)
What kind of hay can I put in the hay net to let him free feed off of and still let him eat the 2 flakes of alfalfa?
