A coin is dropped with no initial velocity. Its final velocity when it strikes the earth below is 83 m/s. the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s^2. How long does it fall before striking the earth? How far does it fall?

I think i got the how long does it fall, but what's the answer, and how do you find out how far it falls??

How far it falls is given by:
vf = √2gh where vf = final vel, h = height of fall
83 = √19.6h
6889 = 19.6h
h = 6889/19.6 = 351 m (ANS b)

time (t) can be obtained from: where v0 = initial vel = 0
h = v0t + 1/2gt²

How far it falls is given by:
vf = √2gh where vf = final vel, h = height of fall
83 = √19.6h
6889 = 19.6h
h = 6889/19.6 = 351 m (ANS b)

h = v0t + 1/2gt²
