Gimme a break. How can anyone mix up a margarita or long island iced
tea with apple juice? They *look* different.

That would be just stupid, Jim... stupid enough to make sense in this case.
LOL I can see a chain restaurant with a bar doing exactly that. I do
remember the bartenders at the restaurants I worked in preparing "mixers".
Said mixers were supposed to be added to the alcohol, not the other way
around. I can see where some managers might get lax and let them do it that
way, blithely assuming they all know what is in what container.

Don't blame the bartenders. In a properly managed restaurant the bar
manager should be overseeing what they're doing. IMHO what you're
describing shouldn't be allowed.

Of course they do. A lot of "family" restaurants have bars, particularly
the chain restaurants. Not everyone who eats there brings children along.
Applebees is certainly one of them. Looking up the Olive Garden in Beaufort
I see they offer various wines, beer and specialty drinks including sangria
and strawberry-limoncello magaritas. They also have kids menu :)

Long Island iced tea looks more like tea than apple juice. But good lord,
wouldn't the kid have tasted the difference?! LI iced tea is almost pure
alcohol with a splash of coca-cola. I can't imagine a toddler wouldn't take
one sip and spit it out. (I know I would! Gross.)

It is odd, that local fox station is on the liberal side, unlike the

Small world, i use to live Hazel Park. No one lives south of eight mile
now. Between Dequinder and Woodward, from eight mile to six mile, almost
ever home is burned out, no one lives there, that is four square miles of
completely vacant homes. Only the gangs rule there. Gun fire can be heard
every night from Hazel Park. They moved north into Hazel Park, Ferndale and
Madison Heights to extend their criminal empire. I am happy happy I moved
out twelve years ago. I sold my home for 90K, today is only worth 20K and
sits vacant today. If I waited just two more years I would have been
trapped in that ghetto having most of money tied in my home. Since I move
out cops have been killed and murders every year, muggings every night. You
have become immune to it. Where I live the worst thing that happens is
someone's mail box gets smashed by kids. Yea right, what is ordinary crime?

That Applebees restaurant is just four mile from eight mile. Too close for
me.

A tradition in grade school was that my mom would serve us cold duck
at breakfast on the first day of school. I had occasion to mention
this to a couple of teachers and it didn't even phase them. I never
knew sangria and cold duck were alcohol drinks until much later in
life. We were of course drinking alcohol-free versions (which were
not well known back then).
