in CLOSED LOOP OPERATION you fucking tard.

Especially the new reactors that are gas cooled. No water even fucking necessary.

steam is just a gas. All gasses can be superheated. It's just the ones that have a higher Cp that are better to be used (which is why water has been used for so long, because it's prevalent).

Even as a dirty liberal/progressive i can't fucking put my head around why people won't accept nuclear power.

You either use coal power and get increased cancer rates, heavy metal poisoning and pollution....or you get a form of energy that is ungodly efficient, productive and the only byproduct is some hrabroad
water and a small amount of nuclear waste. Its FAR easier to deal with a small amount of nuclear waste than it is to due with massive clouds filled with mercury floating all around us.

your point was the regulative red tape is the reason why nuclear power is expensive. if this were the case, we would expect to find nuclear power plants in places without much regulation, but this is actually the opposite of what is observed.

We have a reactor that is small enough to be buried under the 50 yard line or the pitcher's mound in a major stadium that can be used to power the stadium during games and feed power back into the grid.. paying for itself.

Why the fuck aren't we using that everywhere?

That was my question, thanks. And thanks for the answer.

A nuclear powered laptop would be fucking epic.
