I'm thinking about going to the NYFA camp next summer but am afraid that they'll expect me to be something amazing.
1. Is it for advanced acting students? Or kids with acting experience?
2. Is it worth the money?
3. Which location is best?
4. Will they tell you if you should pursue acting as a career if you have talent or something?

These questions are intended for people who have experienced the camp, thank you.

I don't want to go into acting as a career. I just want to try it out and really experience it to see if I like it.

I've seen their Awards show -- it is very good. Not as good as the People's Choice Awards though.

I was a former student at the NYFA for a year.

The NYFA is really not that great of an acting/filmmaking school. You will come across some people who are really good, and take the art of acting/filmaking seriously; but for the most part, they are usually rich kids, who do not want to go to college and foriegners. In my opinion you are really wasting your money. If you want to get a good acting education, go to Julliard, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Lee Strasberg Institute (If you want to do the Strasberg Method). I will say, in a positive note, that they do have a friendly staff, and some of the teachers are really good, and some of them have a good resume. Still, I don't think that it is not worth so much money.
