in during the day my make-up always looks ugly like my foundation has moved in my t zone area and looks dry and spotty like its all sunk into my pores. i don't understand why this happens because i use powder to set my foundation. so is it my primer or foundation thats causing this? also when i use highlighter on my cheekbones it looks really bad and it doesn't shine at all. does anyone know how to apply Benefit High Beam highlighter properly?

A lot factors may be involved here. I think that you have a combo skin and you need to treat it with skin care first and then commit to fine quality makeup. I am not sure what your primer is but that could be the cause of the problem too. Also, it appears that you are putting too much on your face... Primer, foundation, setting powder and highlighter? This is way too much. There is no correct way of using Benefit Highlighter... You just have to apply it over your foundation or face and brush it.

I have the same problem.
I couldn't find anything to stop it, but what I do now I just don't bother with it anymore.
Instead I just clean my face thoroughly with a good cleanser twice a day, moisturise, use concealer on bad areas and use pressed powder.
Now I don't really need foundation at all because my skin has really cleared up as well :)

Make sure you are cleaning your skin properly every night by removing your make up...Apply a tiny bit of concealer to those areas if it is the same colour as your foundation, that is what I do for my blemishes & my skin looks very clear..or maybe you need to try a new foundation that suits your skin better..... I don't use a primer, gave it away to my sister, just a moisturizer & in the day I only use a tinted moisturizer as is enough coverage, Lancome is fantastic as good coverage but my skin looks natural & radiant....I would just go for a nice blush on your cheek bones as that will look more natural & radiant also...but try the tip with the concealer, I love Bobbi Brown cream ivory, is great for under the eyes & blemishes around the nose...good luck :)

darling book one make up artist for an hour they are great and they get rid of bad habits its so cheap..... even a make up counter
