I'm talking free navigation software, ie, like AmazeGPS (assuming it works worth a darn).
Paying >$200 (software + hardware) for something like TomTom is fine if you are going to use it on a daily basis (you are a pizza delivery guy, or watever), but I think there is a much larger group of people, including myself, that would love to have navigation software once every couple of months when we are on a road trip, but aren't willing to make a major expenditure for it.
It looks like Google Maps is going to support GPS pretty soon (already does on one device). Sure its not as nice as a full navigation system, but I think it will do the job for lots of us.
Now, back on topic - Keep us posted on how you like Amaze, how does it compare to Tomtom?
