Fort Knox, KY Army base?

My husband is going into the army and is going into training to become a Cav Scout, and I was just wondering if any one would be able to give any information on this fort at all. Any experiances you have had there, policies, anything interesting I would love to hear. Thank you!!
 
Not sure which part of the base he'll be at, but my friend 3 months there going through Tank School and he absolutely hated it...hated Kentucky in general, lol.

There were a couple places they went off base (like towns) to eat or go shopping or whatever, but for the most part he said they stayed on base bored out of their minds.
 
Once all the paperwork has been done, which will feel like it never will, (you know the old saying, "You can't take a dump without the right peperwork), You will have access to Army Housing One Stop. It will give you all the info on Ft Knox and the surrounding area. Schools shopping, housing, ect.
Here are the Red Cross, USO, and some Military Spouse websites. Keep them handy. And the last one is the Blue Star Mothers site if you want to send it to his Mom.
