I recently received a letter from my landlord outlining damages done to the house that I have been leasing. In the outline he charged a total of $910. $360 dollars of that bill was due to the fact that he had charged $20 an hour for any work he had to do. Other charges included reimbursing him for gas he used during repairs and many other questionable charges. Also, I have been informed in the letter that due to a rent check I wrote that bounced in April I now owe him 18 days worth of late fees. (I got him April's rent and paid a $25 fee for the bounced check already). He is now threatening to take legal action if he does not receive the full amount owed to him. My question is this, if he decides to take legal action will his arguments hold up in court and will I be forced to pay him all money he declares "owed"?
