Formatting

hello guys,
i have a sony ericsson w550i, i have a question, can i format the disk from my computer, by right clicking on the fone drive, and use the format option, like how we format any other floppy drive or hard drive? will that effect to my cell fone or the programs? does it harm the hardware in anyway? please let me know about this

i dont think it wll do any harmm.. but i also say not to take any risk too..
just tell me the reason why u want to format the fone. i could try to give u some other advices depending on ur need.
 
As this phone is discontinued, I could not find a manual online.
I have never heard of formating a phone like any other drive,
and would strongly advise against it!!!:flamemad:
 
but.. it ll b in fat32 filesystem by default as i had cheked that with my SEw810i.
cant say anything else.. i didnt try it though. and now i dont have the fone. it was lost 3 months ago :(
