Formatted 8GB flash with exFAT and now it shows 256KB?

I formatted a 8GB flash drive with the exFAT formatting option and afterwords (I probably did something wrong) but afterwords it only shows that it consists of 256KB of storage...
please tell me what to do! how do I fix it?!
